The need for workers in nearly every field has become so acute at Boone Hospital Center that the personnel staff hopes a job fair will provide a cure.

The hospital is inviting potential applicants to attend the job fair from 3 to 7 p.m. tomorrow on the hospital’s "Bridge over Broadway."

Visitors can enter through the main lobby of the hospital.
Pete Gloggner, manager of personnel and training at Boone Hospital, said the hospital needs all kinds of employees.

"We have over 100 openings right now for full-time, part-time, technical and professional positions," he said.

"The registered nurses, technical, clerical, administrative, secretarial, housekeeping and food-service jobs are in more need," he added.

The job fair will provide information about specific jobs plus the opportunity for on-site interviews for available positions.

"It will give more chance for the candidates to have a face-to-face meeting with the people who they will work with, take a look at the hospital and ask more specific questions," Gloggner said.
Both part- and full-time jobs at the hospital offer health and dental insurance. Full-time jobs also offer paid time off.

"The main criteria for the candidates would be the experience in the professional field, the ability to provide excellent patient care and high-quality customer service," Gloggner said.
